Opened in 2001, the museum displays the rich history of the LAPD from its 1869 beginnings. Located in the 1925 Highland Park Police Station, the museum was salvaged and restored to its original Renaissance Revival style and is a registered National Historic landmark.
2025 MOTA DAY ACTIVITIES:
- Visitors can tour the museum — jail cells, vintage vehicle yard and more — where friendly volunteers will answer questions
- Explore our ongoing exhibits examining the Onion Field murders, the North Hollywood shootout and the Adam-12 TV show
- Create a fun mug shot in our booking area
- The Los Angeles Police Department’s Vintage LA Coppers will make a guest appearance and will showcase their one-of-a-kind vintage police vehicles. Interact with them and check out their rides!
